Netflix has recently announced the new Netflix Pricing Plans. You can read the official blog post that announces the new pricing changes.
Here is a summary of the announcement:
Basically, the Netflix Unlimited Streaming + Unlimited DVD (1 at a time) plan used to be $9.99 a month. But now, this plan has been split into 2 separate plans:
Plan 1: Unlimited Streaming (no DVDs) for $7.99 a month
Plan 2: Unlimited DVDs, 1 out at-a-time (no streaming), for $7.99 a month.
Price for the Unlimited Streaming + Unlimited DVD has gone up 60%, but there are hidden benefits. Now that Netflix is charging a real price for the unlimited DVDs ($7.99 a month) instead of the $2.00 that they were charging before, Netflix Movie and TV show inventory might get bigger. Netflix Streaming might get more attractive, because Netflix can go and strike more deals and buy more content. Hopefully the Netflix Streaming quality will get better as well.
Here is the what the old Netflix Pricing Plans used to look.

Someone should tell the CEO of Netflix not to send out personal emails on company time.
